On Saturday the 9th June the WRX club of WA held an Autokhana at the Tiger Kart Club in Wanneroo.
16 cars turned out expecting to brave the wind and rain that was predicted, in the end we had about 5 mins of drizzle during the late morning.
There was some strong competition right from the off with the lead changing multiple times through the day as errors were made and tyre smoke was made.
At the end of the event the times were added up and the results announced
1st Rikki Mclaughlan
2nd Travis Pedlar
3rd Cody Harris
It was a fantastic day helped by some great social banter and good competition.
I would like to thank all that entered and a special mention to those who helped out.
Here are a few quotes we have receive from some of the entrants.
“Thanks for organising such a fantastic event yesterday. I can tell you guys put a lot of time and effort into your events and I’m definitely going to try and be at the Hill Climb.
As someone new to driving cars as a sport, the courses weren’t hard to the point they were impossible or easy to the point they were boring, it allowed me to see what myself and my Honda are capable of and I had a blast doing it.”
“Thanks for the awesome day,
Have to say, most value for money event I’ve ever entered. “
“I had a fantastic day, couldn’t really fault it. Good coordination from staff and food was a great bonus. Will recommend to all my friends “
“I had a blast lots of drive time and was also great to watch as you could see all the action. “
“The event was great. I was provided with more than enough runs and the circuits were well laid out.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed the day! Hopefully this autokhana style event is something the club will continue with and can run a handful of times a year. As long as the cars running, I’ll be there!”
